25/10
Exactly 2 weeks from today I will be getting on the plane to fly back home. I
so look forward to it! All of your cute faces, puppy kisses, soy lattes and
divine meals- can’t wait!
We have been having a lot of trouble with our water and electricity lately, so
yesterday, half way through doing my washing the water supply dried up. Guess
who had to carry a washing basket full of soaking clothes for a good km before
finding another tap to finish up the washing? You guessed right, it was me. Did
not help that the sun was blasting in its full glory. However a little exercise
has never killed anyone. So I got a good workout and fresh clothes out of the
whole event. Not half bad.
We’re currently hosting a vet and another researcher, as they are here to
locate the injured hyena to dart it and examine/fix up the wound. We are using
a very dead goat as a bait and blast dying animal cries through the speakers.
There was a sighting of the whole clan the night before, however the injured
one was not amongst them. We will be going out multiple times a day with the
hopes of finding him. Fingers crossed!
On another note, during our hyena trapping we had a leopard sighting! I got
such a cool picture, again, cannot wait to share!!!
I would also like to say that I’ve been getting a lot of love from you guys and
I adore you all for that. I’m as homesick as it gets, but you are making me
smile with every message and I know it won’t be long now. Thank you! X
